Mari is celebrating 25 Years in Business with 25 unique one-off pieces in silver and diamonds!

This is No. 16

Dadeni (Rebirth) was a collection inspired by and containing the poem Dadeni written by Professor Mererid Hopwood. This beautiful piece of poetry won the coveted Chair Award at the National Eisteddfod of Wales making Mererid Hopwood the first woman ever to win this award.

In 2003, her poem ‘Dadeni’ was featured in the film Dal Yma: Nawr, which starred the actors Siân Phillips, Ioan Gruffudd, Matthew Rhys and Rhys Ifans.

This piece illustrates the poem both in its design and construction, since the words are painstakingly handwritten on every surface. A diamond, the most precious of stones nestles in between the ribbons of the silver.
